SolidWorks Tutorials 6: Slot Sketching Tool

It helps to draw a centerpoint arc slot on your sketch entity. It contains one arc centerpoint (Point 1),two end circle centers (Point 2&Point 3) and Point 4 on the arc slot.

Step 1

Select plane from the Featuremanager design tree (e.g. Top Plane).

Step 2

Select the “Centerpoint arc slot” button form the command manager.

Step 3

Drag your pointer to sketch area and click mouse button to select the centerpoint of arc (Point 1).

The move pointer radial-outward direction and select the Point 2 of the arc.

Again move to upward to draw arc and select the Point 3 of arc.

Then move outward direction and select the Point 4 to complete Centerpoint arc slot profile.

Slot Sketching Using Menubar

Go to the Solidworks menubar, click on the “Tools Menu”. From the drop down menu, select the “Sketch Entities”. Again side drop down menu, you can access Straight, Centerpoint , 3 Point arc and  Centerpoint arc slots options.
